Our client is looking for a Platform Engineer (m/f/d) to strategically develop the internal platform and infrastructure landscape, take responsibility for new solutions from concept to operation, and act as the central point of contact for technical platform decisions.

Your responsibilities

• Responsibility for the complete lifecycle of new platform solutions – from requirements gathering, evaluation and design to stable operation

• Independent identification, gathering and documentation of requirements for new platform components

• Structured analysis and evaluation of potential solutions, including the preparation and presentation of well-founded decision proposals for departments and management

• Independent implementation of new products and tools (e.g. GitLab, Kubernetes, Artifactory, object storage), including transition to regular operations

• Continuous optimisation of the existing platform landscape (e.g. automated VM creation with Terraform/Ansible, monitoring with Checkmk/VictoriaMetrics) and deriving improvement measures following implementation projects

Your profile

• Degree in IT, a comparable qualification or lateral entry with convincing practical experience

• Experience in gathering and documenting requirements as well as in the structured preparation of technical decisions

• Hands-on experience in the operation or administration of at least two of the following areas:

  • Linux systems (e.g. Ubuntu, Oracle Linux, Debian/RHEL environment)

  • Databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, Oracle Database)

  • Infrastructure components (e.g. SeaweedFS, Checkmk, VictoriaMetrics, Bareos)

  • Developer infrastructure (e.g. GitLab, JFrog Artifactory, Kubernetes)

  • Development and automation tools (e.g. Python, Shell/Bash, Ansible, Terraform/OpenTofu, Docker)

• Good general IT knowledge and the willingness to learn new technologies independently

• Strong hands-on mentality: you think conceptually and implement solutions yourself
