Our client is looking for an experienced Head of Finance / Head of Accounting (m/f/d) to take responsibility for German accounting, lead a team of around 20 employees and ensure the reliable, HGB-compliant mapping of all finance-related processes.

Your tasks

• Functional and disciplinary management of accounting in Germany (team size approx. 20 employees)

• Ensuring proper bookkeeping in accordance with HGB as well as the timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements

• Responsibility for mapping, optimising and standardising all finance-related processes

• Steering, developing and motivating the finance team, including setting up structures and processes

• Close cooperation with management, controlling, tax advisors and auditors

• Sparring partner for the management team in all matters relating to accounting, financial reporting and compliance

• Monitoring and further development of internal controls as well as reporting and KPI structures

Your profile

• Profound expertise in German commercial law (HGB)

• More than 10 years of relevant professional experience in finance and accounting

• At least 5 years of leadership experience, ideally in building and developing larger teams

• Already held responsibility for a team of a similar size (approx. 20 employees)

• Very good knowledge of financial reporting, closing processes and accounting organisation

• Fluent German and English skills, both written and spoken

• Strong leadership, communication skills and a hands-on mentality

• Location: Berlin (Tegel or Alexanderplatz) or Dresden

• If based in Dresden: regular presence in Berlin (approx. every 2 weeks), travel expenses will be covered
