Our client is looking for a Database Administrator (m/f/d) to develop and operate high-performance database solutions in a modern DevOps environment, and to further automate them together with development and operations.

Your responsibilities

• Development, operation and optimisation of Microsoft SQL Server database solutions, including the conception and implementation of database structures, stored procedures, views and scripts

• Ensuring the stable operation of the database and platform infrastructure (e.g. servers/VMs, storage, interfaces), including patch, capacity and lifecycle management

• Analysis and optimisation of database queries and models with regard to performance, stability and availability

• Assisting with the operation of containerised applications (e.g. on Kubernetes/OpenShift) as well as the setup and further development of observability (monitoring, alerting, logging)

• Close cooperation with development and IT teams on deployments, releases and troubleshooting, as well as collaboration on projects with a focus on automation (e.g. CI/CD, deployment standards, database migrations and schema changes with tools such as Liquibase)

Your profile

• Completed IT training, a degree in computer science or a comparable qualification

• Very good knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (database design, SQL development, performance tuning) and experience in operating productive database environments

• Solid understanding of system and platform operations (Linux/Windows, servers, storage, interfaces)

• Knowledge of container technologies and ideally OpenShift, as well as an interest in the interaction with containerised applications

• Experience with automation and modern operational approaches (e.g. CI/CD, GitOps, Infrastructure as Code or scripting with Bash/Python)

• Experience with tools such as Liquibase, ArgoCD, Tekton, Artifactory, MinIO or Keycloak, as well as with monitoring and logging solutions is desirable

• Very good German and good English skills
