The Challenge

A leading construction company with several locations in northern Germany required three qualified specialists at short notice for projects in road, transport route and public infrastructure construction.

The following were sought:

• 2 Civil Engineering Site Managers

• 1 Estimator

The positions were intended for demanding construction projects with public clients. In addition to relevant experience in road and transport route construction, candidates had to be familiar with the requirements of public infrastructure projects and have a confident command of the German Construction Contract Procedures (VOB), quantity surveying, billing and variation management.

Furthermore, a degree in civil engineering or a comparable technical qualification was required, as well as the willingness to work on varying construction sites in the northern German region. The combination of technical depth, experience in dealing with public clients and regional mobility made the search particularly demanding.

Our Approach

After the start of the project, the team focused on candidates with solid experience in the operational implementation of civil engineering projects. Through our network and targeted active sourcing, we identified site managers and estimators who were familiar with both the technical requirements and the framework conditions of public construction projects.
