Teamlead Cybersecurity & Network for avodaq AG – filled in 8 weeks

avodaq AG is an international IT service provider with over 25 years of experience and around 300 employees at locations in Hamburg, Munich, Berlin, Frankfurt, London, New York and Singapore. With a turnover of more than 80 million euros, avodaq supports companies in their digital transformation – from secure IT infrastructures in the Cisco environment, cloud and software development to managed services and modern workplace solutions.
What makes avodaq special: no body leasing, but a genuine build-and-run approach. Those who work here build complex enterprise infrastructures – and continue to operate them. The Challenge
For its Hamburg location, avodaq was looking for a leader for a demanding key role: a Team Lead Cybersecurity & Network who not only understands enterprise environments but is at home in them.
The market for this profile is small. The requirements – deep expertise in enterprise-level cybersecurity and networking combined with leadership experience – significantly limit the pool. Internal recruiting, active sourcing, traditional job boards, LinkedIn and other recruitment consultancies had already spent several months trying to fill the position – without success. Without the right manager, there was a risk that the project business would stagnate.
Our Approach
The initial contact with avodaq came through direct cold calling. From there, a trusting cooperation with Emma Keller, Senior Talent Acquisition Partner, quickly developed.
We combined the systematic direct approach of the relevant target group with our existing network and talent pool in the IT security environment. Persuading candidates was crucial: we positioned avodaq clearly – technically with enterprise cybersecurity, Cisco environment and hybrid infrastructures, culturally with genuine freedom to design and technical depth.
Challenges such as salary expectations, remote work shares and parallel candidate processes were openly addressed and resolved – always with the goal of finding the right fit, not just filling a position quickly.
