Teamlead Cybersecurity & Network for avodaq AG – filled in 8 weeks

The Client

avodaq AG is an international IT service provider with over 25 years of experience and around 300 employees across locations in Hamburg, Munich, Berlin, Frankfurt, London, New York and Singapore. Generating more than 80 million euros in revenue, avodaq supports companies in their digital transformation – from secure IT infrastructures in Cisco environments, cloud and software development, to managed services and modern workplace solutions.

What makes avodaq special: No body leasing, but a genuine build-and-run approach instead. Those who work here build complex enterprise infrastructures – and continue to operate them. The Challenge

For its Hamburg office, avodaq was looking for a leader for a demanding, key role: a Teamlead Cybersecurity & Network, who not only understands enterprise environments but feels right at home in them.


The market for this profile is small. The requirements – deep knowledge in cybersecurity and networking on an enterprise level combined with leadership experience – significantly restrict the pool. Internal recruiting, active sourcing, traditional job boards, LinkedIn and other recruitment consultancies had already spent several months trying to fill the position – without success. Without the right leader, the project business was at risk of stagnating.


Our Approach

Initial contact with avodaq was established through direct cold outreach. This quickly developed into a trust-based collaboration with Emma Keller, Senior Talent Acquisition Partner.

We combined a systematic direct approach targeting the relevant group with our existing network and talent pool in the IT security sector. Persuading candidates was crucial here: we positioned avodaq clearly – technically with enterprise cybersecurity, Cisco environments and hybrid infrastructures, and culturally with genuine creative freedom and technical depth.

Challenges such as salary expectations, remote working options and candidates' parallel recruitment processes were openly addressed and resolved – always with the goal of finding the right fit, rather than just filling the vacancy quickly.
