IT Consultant (Support) for FTI Engineering - filled in 2.5 weeks

The Client

FTI Engineering is a medium-sized, family-run business within the Peiker Group and an established player in the aviation industry. At its Wildau site, the company develops and manufactures highly specialised components for the aerospace sector.

The combination of industrial depth, international orientation, and technical precision makes FTI Engineering a key supplier within the aerospace value chain.

The Challenge

The company was looking for an IT Consultant (Support, Mid-Level) to directly support the internal IT organisation at the Wildau site.

The role was difficult to fill for several reasons:

  • Location-bound position outside traditional tech hubs

  • Limited local talent pool for IT support roles with an industrial focus

  • Several months of unsuccessful internal recruiting, as well as external support yielding no results

  • Acute operational need due to a lack of IT support

Without filling the position, the IT support team would have remained under high pressure, leading to delays in daily operations.

Our Approach

Initial contact was established through our existing network directly with Jana Hoffmann, the primary point of contact on the client side.

The search was intentionally designed to be pragmatic and highly focused:

  • Activation of our regional IT network in the Brandenburg / Berlin area

  • Targeted direct outreach via LinkedIn Recruiter and XING

  • Complementary job postings to cover the market

  • Rapid pre-qualification and close communication with the hiring team

The focus was not on the volume of candidates, but on quickly identifying realistic profiles open to a move and possessing solid service experience.

A key success factor was the clear positioning of FTI Engineering as a global aerospace player with a stable structure and a strong team environment.

The biggest challenge layout in the local availability of suitable profiles, which was resolved through consistent network activation and rapid response times throughout the process.

The Results
The role was successfully filled within 2.5 weeks:

  • 1 IT Consultant (Support), Wildau

The candidate was able to start immediately and was quickly integrated into the ongoing operations.

Client Feedback

Particularly appreciated were the speed, precision, and the fit of the candidate, both professionally and personally.

The candidate would not have discovered the vacancy without our active outreach, and would not have started the process without our mediation.

Today, she is a central part of the IT team and has already taken on additional areas of responsibility.
