European product talent for Canada's Revolut

The Client
Neo Financial is Canada's fastest-growing financial company – as recognised by The Globe and Mail – and often referred to as the Canadian Revolut. With over 1.3 million customers, Neo offers a complete digital financial platform: credit cards, accounts, mortgages, and investment products that help Canadians manage their money smarter. With Series D funding and over 600 employees at its headquarters in Calgary, Neo is growing at a tremendous pace.
The Challenge
For its next phase of growth, Neo Financial was looking for experienced product management leaders at Senior to Group level. People who not only understand fintech, but have already lived it in high-growth environments like Bunq, Klarna, Revolut, or N26.
The problem: this calibre of PM talent is thin on the ground in North America. Those who have worked in these companies in Europe know the pace, product discipline, and growth culture that Neo needs. The hurdle, therefore, was not defining the profile – but finding individuals willing to relocate and change jobs, who were ready to move to Calgary with their families and join a company they had never seen in person.
Local and South American agencies had already tried the assignment – without the desired result. The company simply wanted the best possible talent.
Our Approach
The contact with Neo came via a recommendation from within their own ranks, as they had perceived us for years as a European fintech specialist in the market.
We searched systematically through all relevant European markets: from DACH to the Benelux countries to the UK – in all the companies where fintech product talent is to be found.
The real work lay in the initial interest and then in closing: we explained visa processes, created individual cost of living comparisons between European cities and Calgary, gathered materials on benefits and quality of life, and, above all, built trust. Because moving with a family to a company you only know from calls requires more than just a good offer. It takes genuine persuasive work and a partner that candidates can trust.
The Result
We filled a critical leadership role in the target seniority range:
1 Group Product Manager – Risk (Calgary, on-site)
A European fintech expert with exactly the profile Neo needed: proven growth experience at an established player, technical product understanding, and the willingness to make this move.
Client Feedback
Sarah Markanovich, Talent Acquisition at Neo Financial, says:
"Fast delivery of highly relevant fintech profiles. Morten immediately understood that we need high-growth players and did an excellent job preparing and pre-selecting candidates for such a significant move."
